Dr Julian Brown
GP and Former Regional Prescribing Lead

Dr. Julian Brown is a General Practitioner in West Norfolk and founder of Eclipse Solutions. His web-based systems are now protecting more than 26 million patients.

He has been a GP for 25 years and has had a special interest in diabetes since 2006. He was the GP Prescribing Lead for Norfolk from 2008-2013 and the Long Term Conditions Lead for West Norfolk CCG from 2013-2015. He is considered one of the leading experts on admission avoidance systems and is researching the improvement of outcomes through automated patient feedback, best practice identification and patient self-manangement plans.

He is passionate about optimising health economics through IT and the utilisation of population health management.

Dr Jessica Randall-Carrick
Lead GP for Diabetes in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough

Dr Jessica Randall-Carrick is an Early Career GP with a particular interest in promoting health equity. She is the C&P ICS Clinical Lead for Diabetes & Obesity, and Co-Leads CVD Prevention with Dr Val Thomas (C&P Public Health Consultant).

Jessica launched Deep End: East of England in September 2021, connecting those individuals & practices who are serious about improving the health & well-being of those communities who live in our most deprived areas, or face the most challenging socioeconomic circumstances. There are now Deep End networks in each of the six ICS’ across EoE, seeking to support health& care organisations intentionally mitigate health inequalities, based the established expertise & experience of our Deep End Colleagues in Scotland & across the UK.

Dr Richard Iles
East of England CYP Asthma Lead & Consultant in Respiratory Paediatrics

Dr Richard Iles is a Paediatric Respiratory consultant who has held regional and national positions in the NHS. He was a Hon Senior Lecturer in Paediatrics at Kings College, London and a Consultant in Respiratory Paediatrics at the Evelina Children’s Hospital, Guys and St Thomas’s NHS FT from 2015 to 2021.

Prior to this he was a Consultant and Associate Lecturer in Paediatrics at Addenbrookes Hospital / University of Cambridge for over 20 years. Dr Iles has a clinical and digital background, having been an application analyst for EPIC EMR Cambridge Build.

He continues to be active at national level imputing into the NHSE Children’s and Young Person’s Transformation Team and has recently joined the ECIPSE team as an associate director.

Dr Clare Hambling
GP & Chair of Primary Care Diabetes Society

Dr Clare Hambling is considered one of the leading experts for diabetes in primary care. She is the chair of the Primary Care Diabetes Society, the clinical lead for The National Diabetes Audit (Core) and she sits on the Advisory Group for the National Diabetes in Pregnancy Audit, in addition to being a GP partner in Norfolk.

She is also the Co-clinical Lead for Population Health for the Norfolk and Waveney ICS where she is passionate in supporting equality of care programme for deprived patient groups.

Dr Hamblings input into the COVID PROTECT programme was pivotal in winning Norfolk & Waveney in partnership with ECLIPSE multiple national awards for patient care.

Dr Max Yates
National Polymyalgia Rheumatica Clinical Lead & Consultant at NNUH

Dr Max Yates is a Clinical Associate Professor, consultant rheumatologist at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital and part of the national leadership team for Polymyalgia Rheumatica (PMR). He specialises in epidemiology of rheumatic diseases. He is formally working wth ECLIPSE to improve management of PMR.

His current interests include investigating comorbidity in Polymyalgia Rheumatica (PMR), Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA) and inflammatory polyarthritis.

He carries out clinical trials in rheumatic diseases and is one of the co-investigators on the NIHR HTA trial. He is leading on updating the British Society for Rheumatology guidelines for the treatment of PMR.

Dr James Ferguson
GP and Eclipse Core20PLUS5 Lead

Dr Ferguson is a new member of the ECLIPSE team. He will be leading on our Core20PLUS5 projects.

He is a GP in a Deepend surgery in Cambridge, he currently hold a Deprivation Trailblazer fellowship with NHSE and also spends time working for the Cambridge and Peterborough mental health trust.

Prior to studying medicine, Dr Ferguson was a research scientist in both the public and private sector and has published research in paediatric neurology.

Dr Dahai Yu
Senior Research Fellow, School of Medicine, Keele University

Dr. Dahai Yu is a Senior Research Fellow at Keele University. He has extensive experience in using both primary and secondary electronic health records for clinical epidemiological studies, population-level heath surveillance, prognostic factors and prognostic models and methodological studies.

His current works are focused on pharmacoepidemiological studies using primary care electronic health records linked with secondary care records to evaluate the clinical outcomes of healthcare interventions.

Dr Yu has attracted consultancy and research collaborations nationally and internationally. He has published over 90 original peer-reviewed research publications.

Dr Sebastian Brown
Medicines Optimisation Clinical Lead

Dr Sebastian Brown is a hospital clinician who was part of the award-winning COVID PROTECT team, providing the optimisation and support for healthcare in vulnerable patient groups through virtual hubs.

Dr Orestes Couppis
Primary Care Lead for Diabetes & Respiratory, Waltham Forest

Dr Orestes Couppis is a London GP with a special interest in Diabetes. He has recently joined the ECLIPSE team.

He started his career in anaesthesia and intensive care, having worked in hospital medicine for over ten years. His career highlights are spending time in Nigeria working with children suffering from calcium deficiency rickets and researching high altitude physiology in Nepal and Everest Base Camp. He has also enjoyed taking the role as expedition medic on two trips to Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Beata Yousaf
PCN Clinical Pharmacist, South Lincolnshire

Over 20 years of experience working across different sectors of pharmacy including community, hospital, prison and primary care.

Currently working as a Senior Clinical Pharmacist in Lincolnshire and as the Eclipse Lead Pharmacist implementing digital transformation projects for equality of care.

Dr Rebecca King

Graduated from Cardiff medical school in 2011. She currently works as a GP in Bollington, Cheshire. She has an interest in anticholinergic burden, reducing iatrogenesis though the enhanced use of lifestyle medicine, and education.

Naheed Hussain
PCN Senior Pharmacist, Epping North

Naheed is the clinical project lead for Epping Forest North PCN and leads on the ECLIPSE pharmacist training programme. She supports our 12 pharmacists with a background of 12 years in community pharmacy and
6 years working in General practice.

Paul Taylor
Eclipse Training and Implementation Lead

Paul leads on the ECLIPSE training programmes. He oversees the implementation and training across the ICS areas using ECLIPSE with the regional account managers, and the service support team. He is there to ensure your region receives ongoing and impactful support for your ECLIPSE programmes.

Karen Kendle
HCA, Swaffham and Downham PCN

Karen has worked as the lead HCA for Dr Brown’s team for the last 10 years and has helped to develop the enhanced use of HCAs for healthcare implementations and engagement with vulnerable patient groups.
